Edwin Diaz Just Posted a Video on Twitter That Should Make Mets Fans Excited

So Edwin Diaz just posted a video on Twitter that should have Mets fans around the country excited. If Edwin Diaz can improve on his bounce-back year last season, this Mets bullpens may be one of the scariest not just in the National League East, not just in the National League, but in all of Major League Baseball. 

The bullpen the Mets have together as of right now on paper is scary especially when you bring in a guy like Trevor May to add on top of it. Although the Mets bullpen had a ton of question marks going into this offseason, Trevor May brings stability to a pen that has extreme potential. In 2019, the Mets bullpen finished with a 4.99 ERA, the worst in the history of the franchise. The 2020 Mets did not improve a whole lot, finishing with a bullpen ERA of 4.60, good for 22nd in the MLB. This stat will always make me go crazy whenever I see it. How does a bullpen with arms like Diaz, Betances, Lugo, Gsellman, Familia, Smith, etc., always seem to find a way to have such bad years? It's so frustrating. I could write for days how annoying it is that this bullpen always finds a way to screw something up.

But those days may not be for long. This video that Edwin Diaz posted today made me really excited and I really couldn't tell you why but it just did. It made me think that if Diaz can get it together, if Betances can return to all-star form, and if the acquisitions of May, Loup, and now Yamamoto work out and be what fans think they can be, this bullpen has the potential to be excellent and could be a key piece to a deep playoff run from the amazins this upcoming season! Not to mention if the Mets somehow pull off an acquisition of Trevor Bauer, Seth Lugo can return to this Mets bullpen, and give us quality innings that can really help the Mets in the long run.

The moral of the story here, the 2021 New York Mets bullpen can be really, really, really good and it's something that Mets fans around the country should be excited about.
